Jesus Moves: Cute or Nah?

I made up a concept for small groups that I thought was really clever!

It was, erm, less popular than I anticipated at New City Church.

The idea: we look at the “moves” that Jesus makes throughout his ministry, then discern each week if there is a particular “move” that God is calling us to make in our lives. (i.e., Jesus disrupts problematic stuff in Mark 11:15-18 when he turns over tables. How are we called to disrupt?)

I think the reason this failed is because I tried to roll out a new feature in small groups while everyone was separated by the pandemic. Who knows, if I pushed harder, maybe it could have totally worked! What do you think?
